San Diego Comic Con 2018 is officially over, and as a certified Geeky Tourist, I am beyond gutted I wasn’t in California watching everything unfold. There have been so many exciting announcements – from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, to a brand new Batwoman TV series – that I’m still trying to catch up on all the news from the weekend.
If you didn’t have the pleasure of attending this year’s event either, and are still hunting down those all-important trailers, I’ve created a list of everything you need to watch. Right now.
Which trailer is your favourite? For me, Shazam looks hilarious, Aquaman looks beautiful, and Glass looks intriguing, but seeing Nicholas Falmel in the latest Fantastic Beasts was an absolute highlight. I’m also super stoked to see more of the Thirteenth Doctor in action.
Aquaman
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. Aquaman reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.
Aquaman is set to hit theatres on 21st December, 2018.
Shazam
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them!
Shazam is set for release on 5th April, 2019.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Making good on his threat at the end of the last movie, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
Fantastic Beasts 2 is slated for release on 16th November, 2018.
Glass
M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals—2000’s Unbreakable, and 2016’s Split, in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
Glass will be released on 18th January, 2019.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Godzilla: King of Monsters, is an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Godzilla: King of Monsters is set to hit cinemas on 31st May, 2019.

Thank you for grouping all the trailers :D I’m hyped by Shazam, and I have mixed feelings for Aquaman. But, I’ll give it a try. As for Fantastic Beasts, I can’t wait for the movie. Also: Iron Fist ;) [I know he’s not one of the favorite ones, but still :p ]

Iron Fist does look quite good. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of his so far, but he does have quite a lot to live up to with Daredevil, Jessica Jones AND Luke Cage all coming before him.

Thanks for sharing this. Hadn’t seen the Nightflyers trailer so that was new and cool. Most excited for Glass and Godzilla. Have to say, wasn’t blown away by Shazaam but we’ll see. Aquaman on the other hand looked awesome.

I am so excited for Glass! I’ve waited forever for an Unbreakable sequel – it still doesn’t feel quite real that it’s actually happening. Aquaman I’m not sure about. It looks stunning, but there is so much CGI going on that I’m a little worried it’s not going to feel real, if that makes sense?

It does and it doesn’t. The reason I say that is that I have heard folk commenting about poor CGI (Superman in Justice League, Tarkin/Leia in Rogue One) and so I understand it bothers folk but honestly it doesn’t really bother me. Glass is also following on from Split which if you haven’t seen is well worth a watch. Trust me

I loved Split, though it still slightly boggles me that the two movies are joining forces. In all honesty, I think I probably would have preferred an Unbreakable sequel without the Split storyline added in – as much as I loved it – but either way it’s exciting. I’m a little apprehensive about Sarah Paulson though. Most people will probably hate me for saying this, but I am not a fan.
