25 Geeky Backpacks For Your Next Adventure

Living in England, I’m in the perfect position to pop across to Europe for the weekend – and I do, as much as I possibly can. Flights can be incredibly cheap if you go with a budget airline – we’re talking less than £50 for a return – but there’s a catch, you can generally only take hand luggage.

For a lot of people, I can imagine this would be hell, but I prefer going on short breaks with only a rucksack in hand. It’s easier to get around cities when you’re not lugging a suitcase behind you, and I end up taking only the things I need, not the things I think I’ll need.

But for any of this to be possible, you need a decent backpack, and I’m not going to lie, I like mine to be on the nerdy side. If i’m carrying it around all weekend, I want it to be comfortable – sure – but I also want it to look good, and make me feel good. I love bags that fuel my inner geek and make me feel like myself, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites.

  1. I love travelling light – but always take a small cabin suitcase! However, I do love a cute rucksack for running about London! I’m not sure which one is my favourite. Maybe the Captain Marvel one.

    1. I was always the same, until I went on a Ryan Air plane. You’re only allowed to take a rucksack with you unless you pay extra, so Jess and I saw it as a bit of a challenge, and I found it surprisingly easy. Turns out you don’t need that much at all if you’re only going away for a couple of days. I’m definitely an overpacker generally, but it was quite liberating taking only the things I actually needed.

  2. I love all of these, but why do they have to be so damn small?! The only bigger sized geeky backpacks I’ve seen are a range made by a company for World of Warcraft and those are ridiculously overpriced (we’re talking over $125). It’s like… hi I have a laptop, a tablet, a camera, and loads of other stuff that I want to carry about, could I have something geeky that actually fits real life stuff please?!

    1. Haha yeah, I guess Loungefly have a bit of a thing with what they call ‘mini’ Backpacks, and I think most of these fall under that category. I personally pack pretty light and prefer a smaller backpack, but it would certainly be handy if they stocked bigger sizes too so you had the option.

  3. Oh my gosh they are all so adorable it’s hard to pick a favourite, I love a cute backpack though, I seem to chose them over all other bags now and I used to be addicted to satchels haha xoxo

    1. I went through a satchel addiction a little while ago too, but they just didn’t feel very me. Give me a backpack any day..

  4. Love all these! I have a Loungefly Star Wars backpack and matching wallet that looks like tattoo flash and I love it. I always get so many compliments when I use it :]

    1. Oh I think I’ve seen that one, it’s beautiful. I didn’t realise there was a matching wallet too – amazing! I’m a sucker for matchy matchy.
