Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating – Simon Pegg

Hello there! I’m Emma, and welcome to Geeky Tourist.

If you’ve found yourself on this blog, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you’re probably a bit of a geek. The term brings on a lot of confusion and a bit of controversy, but if you’re passionate about something.. anything – you know, that crazy, excitable, hyperventilating passion – then you’re a geek, and you need to own it.

A lot of people think that ‘geek’ means you’re clever or awkward or you like video games. And yeah, some of that can be true, but in my opinion, it just means you’re comfortable in your own skin. Comfortable enough to admit that you’re different, and to admit that you care about things that others may not.

Here we explore all different kinds of geek, so if you love Pop Culture, or Movies, or Music, or Science, or even History or Nature, you’re going to find something for you here. And if you geek out about travelling, you’re in for an even bigger treat because we love exploring too!

I live in Hampshire in Southern England , and work in London, so a lot of my finds are from these two areas, but I try to get away as much as I can, so expect to see a lot of amazing stuff from around the world too.

If you have any questions, geeky suggestions, or are looking to collaborate, please feel free to drop me an email and I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.
