After spending about 4 hours refreshing the Odeon page yesterday, I finally managed to get my hands on tickets to see Avengers: Endgame. Yes – Tickets are now on sale! Did you mange to get your hands on any?
It was definitely one of my more stressful days, with plenty of swearing and fantasies of punching computer screens, but the most frustrating part was being too preoccupied to watch the new trailer that got dropped at exactly the same time as the tickets.
Have you seen the new trailer yet? You can check it out below:
Well I’ve finally watched it, and re-watched it, pausing at every possible second, and I’ve come to the obvious conclusion – THIS IS AMAZING!
The Russo Brothers are notorious for giving away just enough to keep you interested without spoiling any of the film, so as you can imagine – there’s still a lot we don’t know yet. However, there were a few key things I spotted this time around, so I thought I’d share them with you.
AVENGERS: ENDGAME TRAILER BREAKDOWN

The Avengers take the fight to Thanos
The trailer starts at Avengers HQ where Banner, Rodey and Thor are discussing their plan to go head to head with Thanos once again. ‘If we do this, we’d be going in shorthanded’ – they may have Captain Marvel this time around, but they’re still missing half of their super-powered friends. Later in the trailer we see the team in space looking on at Thanos’ massive ship, so they obviously take the fight to him.

Cap goes Beardless
Meanwhile, a very mopey looking Captain America gazes at himself in the bathroom mirror, beardless. I guess this must be the point in which he all of a sudden decides – in the midst of losing all of his friends, including his bestie –that he desperately needs to shave off his epic beard. RIP facial hair. Is anyone else going to miss this bad boy?

Nebula comforts Rocket
The last time we saw Nebula, she was on Titan with the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with Tony Stark, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. After the snap, her and Tony were the only ones left. We already know they both make it back to earth, and it looks like Nebula’s first port of call is Rocket. I’m guessing this teary eyed point in the trailer is when she tells him that the rest of the Guardians didn’t make it.

Tony and Pepper are reunited
Tony Stark on the other hand head’s straight for Pepper Potts. We’re not entirely sure how he and Nebula mange to get back, but it looks like Pepper is waiting for him – we know from the posters that she survived Thanos’ snap. At the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War we saw Tony propose to Potts, then head off into space leaving a very angry Pepper behind. I think she might have forgiven him.

Iron Man has a new suit
Another Marvel movie, another Iron Man suit. It looks like Tony Stark has some new armour for Avengers: Endgame, which looks remarkably like the gold-heavy suits he wears in the comics. Is it Stark in the suit though? It’s hard to tell at which point in the film this scene is cut from, but the backdrop looks suspiciously like New York. Could this be New York from the past or the future?

Hawkeye becomes Ronin
It’s already been rumoured that Hawkeye will take on the persona of Ronin in Avengers: Endgame, and his new samurai tattoo seems to back that up. In Japanese culture, a Ronin is a samurai without a master, which coincides with his new ink as well as his demeaner. Did Clint Barton loose his entire family in the snap? That would definitely be enough to push anyone over the edge.

Cap and Tony kiss and make-up
The last time we saw Captain America and Iron Man together, they were tearing each other limb from limb after Stark found out that Bucky Barnes killed his parents. They didn’t cross paths in Avengers: Infinity War – Cap was fighting Thanosin Wakanda, whilst Tony was up on Titan – so this is the first time we’ve see them together since Civil War. It looks like they’re putting the past behind them.

Carol flies the Benatar
We get a quick shot of Rocket, Nat, Steve, Rhodey and Thor sat in the Guardians’ ship – The Benatar – flown by Carol, but there’s no Tony in sight? This must be after he and Nebula return from space because presumably this is the ship they use to get back, but is this before Nat goes to get Hawkeye, because she’s still got her blonde hair here. Either way, it’s awesome seeing Captain Marvel in the pilot’s seat again.

Thanos is as big and bad as ever
Marvel haven’t been including Thanos in any of their teasers or promotional material for Endgame, but that has changed in the latest trailer, which confirms that the Avengers will be taking the fight to Thanos this time around. The last time be saw him, he was rather reflectively looking out over a rice field in the countryside. Now he appears to be on a very different planet.

The Big Three
The final shot of the trailer shows the original three Avengers – Iron man, Captain America and Thor – walking in a row towards Thanos who is sitting down in the background. These heroes were the first to get their own stand alone moviesin the MCU (obviously not counting Edward Norton’s Hulk). They are also the three actors who’s contracts are up after Avengers: Endgame, so could this be the end for all three of them?
Are you looking forward to Avengers: Endgame? Have you managed to get tickets to see it yet? What are some of your theories – I’d love to hear them.

I can’t wait for this movie! I just know that my heart is gonna break the entire time haha. I heard one theory that the Tony/Pepper hug in there might not be their first meeting, but rather a sort of goodbye hug before he goes off to fight Thanos again, so I’m interested to see if that’s legit or not.

I’m the same – I just know I’m going to have to have to take a bazillion tissues with me. And that Pepper / Tony theory is breaking my heart, but now you mention it, it could actually be true. They both look so emotional, and we already know that Stark ends up fighting Thanos again.
